Is a gunite pool more expensive than vinyl or fiberglass?

Traditionally, gunite pools are more expensive because of the skilled labor and expertise throughout the entire build process. However, the price gap is beginning to close over the past few years.

Is a gunite pool better than vinyl or fiberglass?

There is nothing wrong with vinyl or fiberglass. However, if a gunite pool is built by a reputable contractor and care is taken with maintenance, gunite pools will give you many more years of carefree service.

Is there a certain size or shape a gunite pool needs to be?

There are absolutely no limitations to the size or shape of a gunite pool and the features of a gunite pool are limitless — from tanning shelves to grottoes. If you can dream it, Aladdin pools can build it!

Can a gunite pool be drained?

If you keep your chemicals maintained, we recommend you don't drain your pool. However, if you feel you need to drain your gunite pool, it won't pose a huge problem. If your gunite pool was built by Aladdin Pools or any of the few gunite pool builders in the Cincinnati area, your pool was built with a hydrostatic valve. It is located in the deep end of the pool near the main drain or in the main drain pot. You're looking for a plug. Take the plug out, and it will relieve the hydrostatic pressure around the pool keeping the pool from floating.

My dog loves to swim. Will he hurt my gunite pool?

I have a German Shepherd that I can't keep out of my own gunite pool, and it's not a problem at all. No animal of any shape or size can hurt a gunite pool. My only advice is this: in the building process, have your builder add an extra skimmer to take care of the hair on the surface of the pool. It won't cost much, and it will be well worth the added value.

Does a gunite pool come with a warranty?

Is the surface of a gunite pool rougher than other pool surfaces?

If you choose to use marcite, crushed marble or white cement, your gunite pool will be as smooth as any vinyl or fiberglass pool. If you maintain your chemistry and have the openings and closings done professionally, that smoothness will last for decades.

01 Consultation

We will meet you at your house and look at the site of the pool you would like to build. It doesn't matter where in Ohio or Kentucky you live. It's important to us to visit your home in person.

02 Design Phase

This is where your vision comes to life! Once we see what you want to build and where you want to build it, we draft up a complete 3D rendering of your yard and the pool you have envisioned.

03 Build Phase

When the design is approved, we get to work! This can take 4-6 weeks or longer, depending on the size and scope of your gunite pool. It won't be long until you are enjoying your brand new pool!
